Is there such a thing as a healthy cookie? I say… of course there is. A good jolt of sugar can be pleasant from time to time, but why not keep around some cookies that can serve as a nutritious filler and provide some snack time comfort at the same time.
- 1 cup all-natural peanut butter (no salt or sugar added)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup applesauce (I used pomegranate/apple purée)
- 3/4 cup roasted walnuts, chopped
All natural peanut butter (with no added salt or sugar) has become a staple at our house. When you combine it with jam, there’s more than enough sugar to balance the flavors out. It will leave you wondering why you ever needed the added sugar from the regular peanut butter brands.
Have you ever tried apple and pomegranate purée? It packs an unbelievable amour of sweer flavor. Great for this recipe.
Just a little honey…
Simple recipe! Combine all ingredients in a large bowl…
Roll into 18 one inch balls and place on non-stick baking sheet. Flatten balls with fork and bake at 325°F for about 12-15 minutes.
Nutrients all wrapped in a beautiful cookie shape.
