Crispy Tuna Patties with Creamy Lime and Garlic Dipping Sauce

I had to improvise this evening since I’m running late this weekend and haven’t gone grocery shopping yet (busy enjoying warm weather with family, we visited a petting farm and cuddled with ponies). That said… I had just the right ingredients to make fish patties!
Such a hit with everyone, including the kids (even the fish haters).

The ingredients (about 12 patties)

  • 2 cans (175 g each) tuna, liquid drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 celery stalk with leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp dijonnaise
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch salt and pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Juice from one lime
  • Pinch of salt

Combine the fish patty ingredients in a bowl and form 12 golf-sized balls. Gently flatten and fry in vegetable oil (over medium heat, a few minutes on each side until golden).

Whisk together sauce ingredients and serve alongside tuna patties.
Wowie!
